For large size project, it is difficult to monitor and control activities carried out by resources for given span of period. Project Management software have accurate algorithms for calculating project information and contain numerous built in checks to avoid user-errors. Thus is helps to monitor activities and resources involved in the project with good level of accuracy.

Project management software provides same platform for communication among team leaders, team members and stakeholders regardless of their geographical locations. It offers transparency to each group or resource in the team with equal understanding on the project status.

Most of the project management software provides graphs, timesheets, Gantt charts, task assignments, time sheets and milestones to manage and track the progress of a project. Managers can prioritize task and shuffle resources throughout the project cycle. It also handles effective resource management helping managers to build team profiles to assign right task to right person. The good software also monitors budget, tracks expenses, regulates resources and calculates costs.

What-if Analysis:

One further feature of project management software is the ability to perform what-if analysis. It allows the managers to see the effects of various scenarios on a project. These scenarios can be run on the software, and their effects can be evaluated. This helps the project managers to prepare and plan for certain contingencies and to access consequences.

Here is few interview tips and tricks you should keep in mind

Relax - Consider the interview as a good relaxed conversation. Please do not take interview as an interrogation. You may be concerned on how to impress the interview board. At the sametime you should realize that the interview board is also interested on making a good impression on the candidate.

Be positive – Try to make others comfortable. Talk on positive ideas, experiences etc. Don’t make negative comments on your previous client, project, manager, team etc.

Be on time – This is interpreted as a demonstration of your commitment and professionalism. If you reach 15-30 minutes early you can relax and make yourself comfortable for the interview. Many clients may have security or HR procedures which may take time, so you need to consider those aspects as well.

Bio Data – Keep few extra copies of your resume with you.

Be a good listener – Communication is like a two way bridge. Listen to the questions and interviewer comments carefully. Don’t interrupt the interviewer communications. Understand the question and clarify if needed.

Show self-confidence – Show confidence while you talk, shake hand etc. Make eye contact with the interviewer. Answer questions in a clear voice.

Avoid Negative body language – Many interview boards may test your performance and reaction under pressure. So avoid negative body language like looking at the clock, touching your mouth, avoiding eye contacts, forced smiles, faking smiles or coughs, slouching etc

Show you want the job and you deserve the job – Demonstrate your true interest on the job by asking job specific questions. Explain how you fit in that specific job. You must apply sales head on this scenario.

No red flag questions – Stay away from red flag questions and comments. “Is relocation is required?”, “Will i get a flexible office time?”, “Can i get 1 month joining time?” etc

End the interview with a pleasant thanks message and a firm handshake. Make the interviewer feel that you are excited on the job. Follow-up with a phone call or an e-mail.
